Gold for BSIS! Jonathan Antony Wins 10m Air Pistol Junior World Cup! 🥇

BS International School is bursting with pride! Our very own student, Jonathan Antony, has brought home the gold medal in the competitive 10m Air Pistol event at the Junior World Cup shooting championship! 🎉

Jonathan, a remarkably talented 15-year-old from Bengaluru and a student at BS International School, Electronic City Phase 1, demonstrated phenomenal skill and composure on the world stage.

A Dominating Performance

[cite_start]Jonathan entered the final as the top qualifier, shooting a score of

586. His qualification was marked by consistent excellence, with a series of high scores: 99, 98, 98, 98, and 98. Although the young athlete admitted that the pressure of aiming for a 590+ score caused him to lose focus and shoot a 95 in his final qualification series, he still secured the number one spot ahead of his teammate Chirag Sharma.

In the final, Jonathan was unstoppable, clinching the gold medal with an impressive final score of 244.8. He finished well ahead of silver medallist Luca Arrighi of Italy (236.3) and bronze medallist Lucas Sanchez of Spain (215.1).

Rising Star of Indian Shooting

This Junior World Cup title is the latest in a series of outstanding achievements for the young marksman. Jonathan is already the reigning

National Games gold medallist, where he famously defeated seasoned shooters, including the highly-regarded Saurabh Chaudhary and Olympic medallist Sarabjot Singh, earlier this year.

Despite his rapid ascent in the sport, Jonathan remains focused on his future goals. "I have done well in the recent trials and in the Nationals later this year, I should be in the

Group A of the senior team," he shared with the media.

The entire BS International School community congratulates Jonathan Antony on this incredible, well-deserved victory! We look forward to supporting him as he continues to shine and represent our school and the nation on the international circuit!
